The ECG-track towards certification - Information Session on 25 June

Is your organisation looking for a framework to improve and measure its impact on people and the planet? And are you interested in the global movement of the Economy for the Common Good (ECG)? Then join the ECG-track that is starting end of August 2021! The track is part of the Building Better Business program of Amsterdam Impact, KplusV and B-Corp and focuses on organisations in the Metropole Region Amsterdam.

The ECG track is for organisations that want to increase their positive impact and contribute to the Common Good: a good life for everyone on a healthy planet. At the heart of ECG is the idea that value-driven businesses are mindful of, and committed to: Human Dignity, Solidarity and Social Justice, Environmental Sustainability, Transparency and Co-Determination. Adopting these core values makes your company future-proof and a frontrunner of the new economy.

The ECG-track to certification is available to anyone, including for-profit businesses, non-profits, educational institutions, and cities. Its global movement is organised by thematic hubs and chapters.

The ECG-track towards certification

The Information Session in June is the kick-off of the ECG-track towards certification, and continues with a two-part process to prepare for certification, which includes expert webinars, training and group consulting spread over 32 hours between end of August 2021 and January 2022.

Prepare for Certification Part A and B

Part A. Introduction to ECG, start with the Common Good Matrix

In the introduction sessions you will learn more about the Economy for the Common Good and how this global movement relates to the Sustainable Development Goals and the Doughnut Economy. You will explore the Common Good Matrix, work on the ECG Quick Scan and start your organisational Values Check.

After the Introduction, you may choose to prepare for certification independently or in a group, where you can learn from peers and ECG-certified companies.

Part B. Work together, learn form experts, prepare your Common Good Report

We have learned that companies like to receive support and inspiration in creating their Common Good Report. For these companies we recommend that they follow Part B. During this training you can ask questions and learn from others, such as experts and companies that already have produced a Common Good Report.

In part B you can join the expert webinar where an ECG certified company will tell you more about one of the stakeholder perspective (A: suppliers, B; owners equity, etc.) and how they improve and develop themselves in the four values (human dignity, solidarity and social justice, environmental sustainability, transparency and co-determination). After the expert webinar you can work, explore and put into words what the stakeholder perspective means for the activities and strategy of your organisation. This is the start of your Common Good Report.

The group consult is to receive additional guidance, to ask questions, get support from the other participants and from the experts. Throughout the training you can count on a stimulating and inspiring environment that helps you complete your Common Good Report.
